Learning outcomes:
By the end of this workshop you will:
- Have strategies to prepare for an industry job talk
- Understand how the job talk fits into the context of the interview
- How to structure your presentation and how much “academic science” to include
- Who to expect to be your audience and what the biotech / pharma industry is REALLY looking for.
Presenter: Thi Nguyen, PhD, Associate Dean for Graduate Career and Professional Development, Washington University in St. Louis
Dr. Thi Nguyen has coached graduate students and postdocs who got job offers for Scientist and non-scientific positions in Big Pharma, start-ups and tech companies like Google’s Verily.
A light lunch will be served; you must register in advance.
